About Fiber & Gift

Fiber & Gift is a sustainable wrapping product designed by blending organic hemp fabrics and the traditional Japanese art of furoshiki.

This is a product concept that I designed intending to reduce the estimated 4.6 million pounds of wrapping paper that is produced in the US annually. Fiber & Gift would use fibers derived from organic hemp, a dense and quickly growing plant that encourages biodiversity. Each product purchased contributes to reforestation projects, and a story card explaining furoshiki traditions and these sustainable forestry initiatives will be provided. I designed fabric patterns that incorporate Traditional furoshiki designs such as geometric patterns and floral motifs in addition to nature-inspired prints
